Office Policy
for Re-use of Visual Images:
Visual images such as
photographs, video, design elements and logos created by the Information
Technology and Communication Services (ITCS) staff are developed
as a shared resource for the faculty and staff of the College of
ACES. They may be used for any college funded or approved projects
run or administered for the greater good of the college.
ITCS staff are able
to provide clients with high quality work at very reasonable prices
because our work is subsidized by the college. Clients are encouraged
to use existing visual images when they fit their needs. If what
they need does not exist and a client wishes to commission ITCS
to create new works they are contributing to that shared resource.
In order that the client
get the full value for their commissioned work we agree to contact
the commissioning client if approached by others requesting to use
those new visual images prior to the usage for which the work was
originally intended.
After the project is
finished, published or released, ITCS staff will contact the commissioning
parties only if there is a question as to the whether the use of
a particular visual image is appropriate.
We feel this agreement
will protect the interests of the comissioning clients while allowing
others to enjoys the benefits of the full resources of the college.
